Flying Eggplant #5
Construct the coincidental image
Render life.
Adorn with magical amulets.
….5 looks on.
A still life is fashioned from found objects, the only constraints being
a human icon and #5. Photographed in quick succession using the same
camera, lens and aperture, the deliberate image has few chances to
emerge, if it happens at all. The sculpture is destroyed and newly created
the following week in another incarnation.
Dramatic and compelling, Flying Eggplant #5 reveals the artist as
both conscious architect and inanimate voyeur in pursuit of
meaningful happenstance
“As beautiful as a chance meeting on a dissecting table of a sewing machine and an umbrella.”
Isidore Ducasse – Les Chants de Maldoror
